Stroll by Room 106 to see evidence of hard work (and see the long-term plan for the room here)! Ben Sikkink is leading the effort, supported by a number of volunteers–who would welcome your company.
The work plan includes removing items from the walls and room, prepping walls and beams for painting, painting, removing carpet, and then either removing carpet adhesive or laying down flooring, depending on what we find under the carpet. Crews are planned for Saturday mornings and Monday evenings (note several dates have been added):
- Saturday, February 13 8:30 to noon
- Monday, February 15 6 to 9 p.m.
- Saturday, February 27 8:30 to noon
- Saturday, March 5 8:30 to noon
- Monday, March 7 6 to 9 p.m.
- Saturday, March 19 8:30 to noon
- Saturday, March 19 1 to 4:30 p.m.
- Monday, March 21 6 to 9 p.m.
While specific tasks change with the energy of each crew, in general there’s painting for the nxt few crews, followed by removing and replacing the carpet. To be a part of any of these crews, complete this online form or contact Ben, Lois Maassen, or the church office.
Other projects are also underway or starting soon, including moving, winnowing, and reorganizing a variety of items that have collected over time. To indicate your willingness to help with any part, provide your contact information on this form and we’ll email you as work sessions are scheduled!
